The Correct Way to Use Facial Skincare

The correct way to apply facial skincare is based on consistency and sequence, starting from the lightest to the heaviest texture. In the morning, skincare focuses on protection, which includes cleanser, toner, serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen. Meanwhile, nighttime skincare focuses on regeneration, consisting of double cleansing, toner, serum, and moisturizer or night cream. Use products according to your skin type and avoid excessive application.

Proper Skincare Routine

Morning Routine (Protection Focus):

  1. Facial Wash: Cleanses excess oil and dirt from the face.
  2. Toner: Balances the skin’s pH and provides hydration.
  3. Serum: Provides additional nutrients, such as Vitamin C to brighten the skin.
  4. Moisturizer: Locks in moisture to keep the skin hydrated.
  5. Sunscreen: A mandatory step (minimum SPF 30) to protect the skin from UV rays.

Night Routine (Repair & Regeneration Focus):

  1. Double Cleansing: Use micellar water or cleansing oil first, followed by facial wash to thoroughly remove makeup and impurities.
  2. Exfoliation (2–3 times a week): Helps remove dead skin cells to prevent dull skin.
  3. Toner: Hydrates and prepares the skin after cleansing.
  4. Serum/Treatment: Use a serum based on skin needs, such as retinol for anti-aging.
  5. Eye Cream: Treats and nourishes the delicate eye area.
  6. Moisturizer/Night Cream: Locks in moisture and nourishes the skin overnight.

Important Tips:

  • Apply products from the most liquid to the thickest or cream-based texture.
  • Allow each product to absorb by waiting 1–2 minutes between steps, especially before applying sunscreen.
  • Apply gently and avoid rubbing the face too harshly.
  • For beginners, basic skincare is sufficient: cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen.
